Patricia Herndon
Spanish Patricia Herndon is a Foreign Language educator in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally from Warsaw, Poland, she settled in the U.S in 2000 and became a French teacher in 2005. She holds two bachelor’s degrees from Kennesaw State University (Information Systems and Modern Language French) as well as a Master’s degree in Foreign Language Education from Auburn University. She is currently in the Specialist Program at the same university working on an advanced degree in Spanish.
Prior to her arrival in the U.S., Patricia graduated from the Collège Universitaire de Formation de Professeurs de Français at the University of Warsaw and worked as a French teacher in a high school in her native city. She holds an educational certificate in French( P-12), Spanish (P-12), Art (P-12) and Gifted In- Field in the state of Georgia.
Patricia currently works for Warren T. Jackson Elementary, an Atlanta Public School, as a French teacher to grade 5 and as a Spanish teacher to grades P-4, a long desired dream realized! Prior to Jackson Elementary, Patricia worked for Gwinnett County Schools and Atlanta Public Schools for over a decade teaching French to elementary and middle school children in traditional public and International Baccalaureate schools.
Patricia is the proud mother of two beautiful girls, Emma and Danusha (14 and 11 years old respectively) and a 2-year old Bruce. Her husband Erik is actively involved in music projects with Polish community members and is a music educator, teaching orchestra and guitar at Marietta High School.
When not teaching, painting, studying, cleaning and thinking of ways to be a great educator, Patricia can be found walking her dog and enjoying her family and community.
